Learn to care for yourself in order to better care for others!
The Caregiver Society is an affirming and intentional community of caregivers committed to providing a safe space and opportunities for caregivers to unwind, heal and care for themselves. We are a society with a passion for humanity and we are bent on helping caregivers stay fit mentally and physically in order to care for others.
In partnership with The Philadelphia Presbytery and 1001 New Worshipping Communities, The Caregiver Society was founded by Kearni Warren in 2018, The Caregiver Society is rooted in the philosophy of catering to specific concerns and needs of the different types of caregivers. We believe whether you provide care for the terminally ill, aging family members, Alzheimers patients, children living with special needs, adults with disabilities, or those who are temporarily sick, you are a caregiver who can benefit from our support. Our community is built on love, care, and passion. Matthew 25: 35-40 is the basis of The Caregiver Society, we believe as a whole, we are all caregivers within our communities and we are responsible for caring for our neighbors. We strive to make this caregiver community a place where we not only help caregivers, we specifically assist and contribute to providing mental, spiritual, and physical wellness.
We realize caregivers are often isolated and stigmatized. However, we are leading the force to redefine the face of caregivers to raise awareness and dignify the work of caregivers. There are approximately 40 million Americans working as unpaid caregivers of which a growing number are millennials. The Caregiver Society provides a non-judgmental space to express feelings and concerns and to participate in fun events to maintain spiritual, mental, and physical health. Companionship is key to a trusted relationship among caregivers. We not only strive to help caregivers with everyday work tasks but we help develop and foster caring relationships among our members. We also provide one-on-one attention and care that cannot compare in other settings.
Our services are not limited to creating a safe space for caregivers. We care for our neighbors and give back to our community by providing light concierge services to those living with disabilities and the elderly without families in our community. Ranging from transportation to grocery shopping, meal delivery, and light cleaning, we offer assistance.
It is important for caregivers to remember to care for themselves. You have to take time out for yourself. Learn to care for you in order to successfully care for others. We provide different activities to assist in maintaining work/life balance. Contact us to learn how we can help you relieve physical and emotional stress.
We believe the act of caregiving is a special calling from God. Anyone can provide care for another but having a true caregiver's heart is different. Caregivers know what to do and when and how to do it without being asked. What keeps you motivated on difficult days?
